The Impact of Trauma on Growth and Learning

Barbara Sorrells

Increasing numbers of children in our culture are experiencing adverse childhood experiences that result in a multisystem failure of brain development, attachment, self regulation, sensory processing, social skills and learning. The impact of trauma often manifests in behavioral challenges and learning issues. This session will focus on how trauma changes children from the inside out and the challenge it presents to the Christian school community to help children find hope and healing.
